A word about the mind…

The mind

is the most fascinating place to pay attention to — because it’s the only real reliable tool we have on experiencing “the world”. The fact is, the world “out there” is really the world “in here”. How do you know you exist, right here, right now and that all that you’ve been through, as a human being, up until this point, is genuine and reliable? Because you’ve experienced it, and you’re sure about it!

That’s why it’s positive to be healthily skeptical when others, whether that be friends or authority figures, tell you what they think is true. Why is this? Because most people never deeply explore their own minds or pay enough attention to what the mind is doing or is capable of and thus pick up all their information and beliefs/preferences/paths/notions of the world from others by copying, mimicking, and blindly trusting the status quo of the society that one is in. For example: our western society believes in material science at the moment, based on the progression of the people we admire from our recent past and the European Renaissance: Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, Benjamin Franklin, Niels Bohr, and so on. They have made the “big list”, and so the information they present is the most accessible to our consciousness. Our societies contain hundreds of thousands of scientists, many of them unrecognised but still working away — so what makes these guys right and correct? Science is just another game to interpret reality, just like modern spirituality (and every other major category of pursuits, by the way) because it creates experts that rise and fall, giving information away to societies, when new discoveries are made. Life is constantly being updated. Why? Because of the inevitable human experience of the mind! So, if you experience that the sun comes up everyday and you see/know that — trust it. But there’s a point where you have to say “I don’t know” if there are other solar systems, or that the Milky Way is actually this-sort-of-shape, because “I don’t have access to a telescope” and “I certainly haven’t been there!”. Overall, your experience will let you know what is true, and over time, your mind’s projections, outsourcing, and all the second-hand-truth you accumulate from other people will become obvious to you.

Consider this:

All your ups and the downs….
And your good and bad moods…
And your beautiful material items, like flowers, incense, and food…
And opinions, values, and emotions…
Every idea and interpretation…
Each bodily movement and sensation…
Every dream at night…
Aspiration, goal, intuition…
Thought, emotion…
Unfortunate or fortunate event…
Spiritual connection with God…
And even the weather, other people, rooms, natural landscapes and nature…
Is all an aspects and projections of your mind! You created this. Literally. Every other mind in the world also helped create this. The entire world is just made up of mind(s). The world could not exist without you. Or me. Or Joe who helped build the Eiffel Tower. Or Nancy the nurse who helped save Joe at the hospital when he fell off the Eiffel Tower.

So, it’s up to you from here to decide whether or not there is any separation between anything or anybody and if the world is really “out there” or “in here”.

Even more, when you realise that the mind/consciousness is the greatest mystery of all time and that all the things you have assumed were “out there” (such as your friends, family, boss, animals, and even the roof over your head) are actually of your own creation, then you begin to appreciate and value the way you see and experience the world to a greater degree. Thus, a lack of separation between yourself, people, and objects begins to form and you can say, “yes, this is all me!” So, hatred, anger, and delusion can be overcome, eventually, because there are no other people and no external circumstances. They are all you.

There comes a time in human evolution, with maturity, that we can choose to take psychedelics and entheogenic plants to have a look at our own consciousness and its experiential power and capabilities. This can be for many reasons, some of which include:

Healing or getting unstuck
Seeing new perspectives in the material and non-material world
Self-discovery and playful fun
Career advancement for creativity/inspiration

Psychedelics can answer questions like:

What emotions have been covered up, due to trauma and past experiences?
What new shapes, colours, or ideas have been hiding from our baseline awareness?
What is spirituality and what is God?
What is consciousness itself?
Are there different dimensions, beings, and worlds than we are used to?

Working with a small group of trusted people or a guide is advised when taking psychedelics/plant medicines. Your judgment and discretion must always come first when engaging with such substances, because they alter awareness and consciousness and are ultimately life-changing and can have lasting effects for weeks to years in duration.

Om namah Shivaya, may all beings be happy, may all beings be free, and may all beings lose their relative selves and become one with consciousness. Om.

Episode 30: Ayahuasca & San Pedro In Peru — Interview with Lane Belone

san

Like many of us who are awakening, we are taking our inner power back and harnessing it for ourselves so that we may be of service to others. Included in this way of unpacking our power, some of us are called to witness and to be supporters/sitters in entheogenic sessions. Lane Belone is but one of those people — he recently visited Peru as a guide in both ayahuasca and san pedro ceremonies as a helping hand to assist in unlocking other beings’ consciousnesses. In this episode, we touch on what these plant medicines are and Lane’s knowledge of what it takes to be a personal asset in these ceremonies.

I ask Lane, “Do you think we all have the power to do this, or do you have to have special training or have a gift to be a guide?”

Well, that depends. If one claims to be a Shaman, then they must have serious knowledge, training, and awareness of the historical/ancestral roots of the practice and the spiritual energies they are invoking. Anybody may call themself a Shaman, but that does not mean they have been taught properly or assimilated the practice properly. The role of a Shaman goes deeper than light energy work, such as massage or reiki.

If you want to be a guide or sitter, like Lane, then it is much more accessible. I suggest this is due to three critical factors: you have to be both aware and present in the process; have a depth of connection with the people you are guiding, whether that be because of personal history or a trust that develops upon meeting; and have a vital awareness of the effects of the engeogenic plants or previous experience with them to be able to intuit what to do inside the situation. I know, because I have been present at multiple Bufo Alvarius experiences (the most potent God-inducing substance on the planet) — never having taken this myself but with enough entheogenic experience, personal connection, and presence to be a calm force in the unfolding process. With both intuition and knowledge, one can smoothly either experience or guide in the entheogenic ceremony.

Listen to our episode to find out more about Ayahuasca and San Pedro.

If you are on the receiving end of the spectrum and want to get in touch with Lane regarding his ceremonies or simply want to expand your potential, then he can help guide you at www.increasefreedom.com.

Episode 10: The God Button – Bufo Alvarius

In this raw and gripping episode, we speak with a friend on one of the most important days of his life: the day after he had gone through a Bufo Alvarius experience, a medicine from South America.

This is not a medicine to be taken lightly, as it dissolves a lifetime of pent-up stress, habitual patterns, and can break egoic thoughts and feelings that have been in the consciousness for decades.

The participant was launched into an experience of coming to the very end of the universe — all human beings and life on earth, all galaxies, other universes, gods, and that-which-we-do-not-know-of as people — and reached a point at the “end” of all this. This entire manifestation was God him/herself, and our participant tasted God.

God, this entire creation, showed the participant a “button”. If he hit the button, the entire cosmic manifestation would cease to exist… entirely. The button would dissipate and dissolve everything that ever was, including God him/herself.

What was this like? This choice, to end something in favour of real nothing? Find out by listening here…

Episode 7: Interview with artist Demi on Italian Politics and Ego Death

demi

This is a self-portrait of artist Demi, whose works and website you can find here. He is inspired by the moon, which is a symbol of stillness in the chaos and is a grounding principle in his meditation sessions. He also paints abstract and wild portrayals of the female, geometry, and nature.

In our episode, I want to ask who he is as a person, an artist, and a non-dual creature. We never know how the conversation will flow, yet he delves straight into the fascism happening in Italy right now… he left Italy to set up a better life for him and his daughter in a mission to express himself creatively in London.

Artist-to-artist, we know how challenging it is to be able to paint in an environment that’s constantly in flux with the same hem-and-haw of change that every city goes through: destruction and creation, especially concerning the unrelenting property-development of our artistic community in Hackney. Just as the seasons change, so does the community but to a less predictable degree. (And it frustrates the hell out of us, sometimes!)

Concerning our spiritual nature, which Demi avidly explores, he is a constantly playing with material reality and is ultra-curious on how this whole paradigm operates on a macro and micro level. Experimentation with plant medicines, which we go into in the episode, has been part of his search for truth, expansion, and the divine. He will not stop until he reaches the final frontier and is no stranger to the yin-yang of passing through darkness and light, as we all have to on this planet earth.

Enjoy, and it was a pleasure! Don’t forget to email me at curiousbodhi@zoho.com to be featured and meet, human-to-human and spirit-to-spirit.
